Current Situation of International utilization of Postpartum Contraceptive Methods : A literature Review

【Abstract】The normal interpregnancy interval has great benefit on the health of woman and her children. Therefore, standardized postpartum contraception has great significance on improving the level of women reproductive health. The choice of postpartum contraceptive methods is influenced by a number of factors, including women's history, hormone levels, physical status, breastfeeding, and woman personal and family preference. Immediate or early implementation of long-term reversible contraceptive measures plays an important role to prevent unintended pregnancy and its following complications. This review described the existing international postpartum contraceptive methods and provided guidance for clinicians.
